When colon cancer develops, it reaches the last stage of its evolution, which is called colon cancer stage four. In stage four, the cancer spreads to other parts of the body, thing that makes the disease more difficult to cure. Although the cancerous tumors can spread to any part of the body, they usually spread to the lungs and even more common to the liver. The survival rates for liver metastases are higher than the one for lungs or bones tumors created because of colon cancer. Anyway, this does not mean that all those who get metastatic colon cancer in liver survive the disease. Do not forget that this type of cancer is also the one that causes most deaths every year among people all over the world and that the survival rates are not very optimistic in this case.
