Have you ever heard about feline colon cancer? You definitely heard about colon cancer and possibly you know some things regarding this disease, and even if you do not, colon cancer is today an important reality and unfortunately many people develop this disease.

Feline colon cancer is, on the other side, not a very common form of the disease. However, it is very possible an x-ray or o biopsy to be recommended because after a simple medical check, no doctor can tell you what type of disease was developed. This way, you an also find out it the cancer has spread to other parts of the body and which parts were affected by the cancerous tumors.

And when the diagnosis is a bad one and the vet tells you that there is a cancer formed, treatment must start immediately. In the great majority of cases treatment means actually a surgery in which the cancer tumors are removed. Anyway, other treatments that are very common for cancer cure in individuals, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy are not yet proved to work in feline colon cancer, but chemo can be used if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.

And you must also know that, as in every other type of cancer development, in feline colon cancer recurrences can be developed. This means that even if the primary tumor has been treated in the first place, the cancer can reoccur after a certain period of time, period that will vary from one patient to another. So, as you can see feline colon cancer is about similar with all colon cancer cases, so the only advice is to be careful at symptoms and of course, to try to prevent the disease from occurring in the first place.
