Most diseases are detected because some certain signs occur and then the person that has those symptoms goes to medical checks, has different tests and analyzes and after that the disease is discovered and diagnosed. In some cases, a disease can be detected when you are having the regular medical checks, without any symptoms. So, in some disease there are no symptoms. This is colon cancer case, at least when the tumor starts developing.
So, unfortunately, in most cases, there is no such thing as early signs of colon cancer. It the earliest stages, most colon cancer patients have no symptoms and that is why when they are diagnosed the cancer is already found in an advanced stage. There is nothing that can alarm you or that can make you understand that a disease has been developed and you need to go see a doctor immediately. When symptoms do occur, although they are not what we would call early signs of colon cancer, the first ones, include excessive gas, diarrhea or constipation. However, all of these symptoms can be associated with other diseases. Sometimes abdominal pain and bloody stools can occur, buy they usually indicate a more advanced phase of colon cancer, when the tumors are already formed.
Anyway, when cancer is formed, it starts affecting the good function of the colon so weakness and tiredness can be felt because of the body general bad state of health. People with colon cancer sleep a lot, more than they normally should, and then after the cancer discovery and diagnosis, when treatment starts and chemotherapy is administrated they sleep most of the time, more than they are awake. This happens in both cases because the body gets weaker under cancer effect.

Because as already said, there are no early signs of colon cancer the early diagnosis can be made only when doctors discover abnormal growths in the individual’s colon, after a screening test. Screening tests are recommended for all those who are under colon cancer risk factors, as pollution, an unhealthy diet and presence of cancer is one of his family members’ medical past. The age is also considered a major risk factor.
If you are over the age of 50, then screening tests are recommended once a year. Of course these elements vary and they are established by doctors and patients together depending on many things regarding the patient’s medical history. Is the doctor thinks that something is wrong he can take a biopsy sample and tell you if you have colon cancer. If this is the case the treatment must starts immediately with your doctor’s advice.
