Colon cancer is a disease that affects both men and women. And each year thousand of people are diagnosed with this type of cancer. Colon cancer has just a few symptoms right after forming and in most cases the first sings occur only when the cancer reaches stage four, which means that it spreads to other organs making the cure very difficult if not almost impossible.

Women seem to be in general more informed about any disease and more attentive when it comes to health and care. Blooding is also a common symptom of colon cancer for both men and women. The presence of dark or bright red blood in an individual stool should be a very alarming sign and in most of the times is, but it can also be associated with other diseases such as hemorrhoids. Fatigue is another symptom that can indicate cancer. It can occur after the cancer has grown, but it may also be experienced by some patients in an early phase of the cancer. However, when the cancer begins spreading, it starts affecting other organs and new symptoms may occur.

In women cases, colon cancer can spread to the ovaries, lungs or liver, but on other organs can also be created secondary tumors. In order for the cancer to be cured, both primary and all secondary tumors must be removed or through the use of some drugs killed. So, treatment will regard these two directions.
