Unfortunately, today many people are suffering because of colon cancer and their numbers tend to increase. Why do colon cancer cases become more numerous and how do people bet ill because of this disease is a thing that researchers are trying every day to reduce or eliminate.

But, in order to decrease colon cancer diagnosis, people must know what the risk factors of the disease are and they must try to reduce them as much as possible. And when an individual is subjected to some of the colon cancer risk factors that he can not control, he must be very careful at any symptom that can make him understand that the disease is about to be formed.

Colon cancer symptoms do not occur in the first stages of the disease and that is why most patients are diagnosed when the cancer is already spread. Unfortunately, when colon cancer spreads, it is very difficult to cure and this is the main reason why many people who develop colon cancer die because of it. This is another reason why prevention and early diagnosis must be done.

To be able to detect colon cancer in time, you have to have screening test every year if you are over the age of 50. And when symptoms occur, at the first little sign you have a medical check and be sure that everything is in order. So, when colon cancer symptoms occur they will probably regard changes in the bowel habits. Someone who developed colon cancer will probably have serious and long term diarrhea or constipation, but the alternation between diarrhea and constipation is also a colon cancer symptom.

A sever symptom is the presence of blood in the individual’s stool and this thing can be experienced by patients that have already developed the cancerous tumor, and on which the tumor stated to grow. The blood can be dark or bright red depending on the tumor evolution. Abdominal pain, cramps, weakness or fatigue can also be colon cancer symptoms.

The feeling of an incomplete removal of the stools can also be a symptom, as well as stools that are narrow. When one of these symptoms is felt by an individual, colon cancer is probably the last thing on their mind. And usually people do not have medical checks is they had bowel changes or constipation for two weeks. They just think that it has to be something they ate and so a medical check is not a need in their opinion. This conception is very wrong, because although colon cancer is a disease that grows slowly, in that time they waited treatment could have stared and colon cancer cured rapidly with no pain and other complications.
